Workshops led by Lynnea Shrief, IPEN Founder and Director and first in the UK to provide placenta encapsulation services to the public from May 2009.

Placenta Encapsulation is only just becoming popular in the UK and the market is ever growing.  IPEN offers UK birth support workers a unique opportunity to be one of the first Placenta Specialists in their local area.  Become a part of an expanding group of women who understand the placenta is not waste but a priceless healing agent that can transform a new mother's post-birth experience.

We are now using human placentas donated from mothers for practical training.  Workshops include placenta encapsulation and placenta printing training and discussions about raw vs. TCM method, placenta smoothies, placenta tinctures, 'Mother' essences and homeopathic remedies!

Request a training brochure including details of IPEN Membership, Training Workshops and Application Form and include your full name, where you are based and any previous experience with mothers/post-natal/birth or other and why you are interested.

Important information: Our hands-on-training workshop consists of a morning theory session and an afternoon practical training session; Vegan lunch provided. You will be required to complete Course Work including 9 short answer questions, 4 long answer questions and self-assessment of your first placenta encapsulation experience. Course work is due within 8 weeks of your training date.

Becoming an IPEN Placenta Encapsulation Specialist ensures your business is registered with the correct UK Authorities and follows current UK Government Regulations to protect both you and your future clients.  Other International companies may offer placenta encapsulation training over the Internet - IPEN advises you consider carefully your duty to your future clients to offer the safest possible service ensuring your business is according to UK Law.                                                                                                

Please note: As a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist you will be in direct contact with placental blood and tissue from the public.  We have worked with The Health Protection Unit and the Environmental Health Office to put together a Risk Assessment and Code of Practice for Placenta Specialists in the UK to reduce risks ensuring the encapsulation is as safe as possible for both the Specialist and the Client.  We are a professional service for mothers in the UK - we only train applicants who are doula trained, midwives or have personal experience with the placenta.
