A MOTHER who ate her baby’s placenta is encouraging other parents to give it a try. Claire Ledger, 32, of Lambley, decided to research natural methods of healing after birth following a postpartum bleed during her first pregnancy with son Ethan in 2011.
After becoming pregnant with her second child, Poppy, Claire decided to prepare herself in case of another haemorrhage, and began researching natural methods which encourage the body to heal after birth.
Claire said: “I started researching natural ways to heal after birth and how to get your iron up, and I came across placenta encapsulation. I was quite open to trying it and I only heard positive results. People were reporting they had lots of energy after and it helps to control bleeding.
